Wood pellets are a type of biomass fuel made from compressed sawdust, wood shavings, or other wood residues. Wood pellets are commonly used as a renewable energy source for heating and power generation.
The process of making wood pellets involves drying the wood material to reduce its moisture content, and then grinding it into a fine sawdust. The sawdust is then compressed under high pressure without the need for any binders or additives. The high pressure causes lignin (a natural substance in wood) to soften and act as a binding agent, resulting in solid and dense wood pellets.
